The very strange Grand Theft Auto Mod for Minecraft consists of, well, what else, a detailed and fairly comprehensive recreation of the mechanics and world of the GTA game series. There are a lot of big changes to the base game with this mod, all of which will be easily and quickly recognized by long time GTA fans.

One of the most noticeable is the Zan’s Map, or in GTA, the little locator that shows up at the upper right corner of the screen. This will show you, the close surrounding area, enemies and NPC’s.

The world of the mod is a highly rendered city (meaning it’s well constructed, not in high definition) that really doesn’t much resemble any of the cities of GTA. But that aside it’s cool all the same. This city will be populated by a number of villagers and a few monsters, and when nightfalls the monsters take up the role the police play in the GTA games and spawn EVERYWHERE. Be advised this is a pretty tough mod for inexperienced players, so expect to die – a lot.
